KVIFF – Digital guide to the renowned film festival

Who would not have heard about the International Film Festival Karlovy Vary. This jewel of the Czech festival scene put trust in us to provide a great mobile application for their visitors, allowing them to do what truly matters – reservations of tickets for the projections. After 10 years of experience developing digital guides for festivals and conferences around the world? No problem.

Just like everybody knows KVIFF, the visitors see the challenge of acquiring tickets. Apart from the limited capacity and the fact that there are thousands of people trying to catch a spot in the hall at once, there is one technological issue. The 20 years old legacy reservation system. How to deal with the section of the application which has built such a bad reputation for itself over the past few years that nobody believed anymore that the reservations could actually work?

Thanks to the added middle layer, which attends to the queue of reservations and ensures the stability of the application, users have information about their reservation status – in contrast to previous years, when they knew nothing. Users can now browse multiple days of the program with more than 400 projections with comfort and ease.

During development, we have taken special care and attention to the error messages so that the users always know what to do. And for additional comfort, we allowed adding multiple festival passes so that the users can reserve tickets for themselves and their loved ones.
