Citymove – the first multimodal guide through Prague transportation

Citymove is a multimodal mobile application connecting different transportation means in Prague. It comes from the innovation center for mobility and digitalization ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab. We have helped the mentioned DigiLab from May 2018 to February 2020 with the development of this mobile app which integrates several services and helps people find the ideal means of transportation including payment options.

The goal of the ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab project was to create the first multimodal app in the Czech Republic. That meant to provide users who frequently use different modes of transportation a tool for an easy selection of the preferred means of transportation. Our goal was therefore to integrate selected services and functionalities into one application – from walking to using public transportation, a shared scooter or bike, ordering a taxi or just providing an easy solution for parking payment.

Thanks to the thought-through design that unifies several functionalities and third-party tools, Citymove can offer the optimal solution for getting from point A to point B at the given moment. How? Thanks to evaluating of transportation possibilities in the area, their price comparison and planning of the optimal route so that the user does not have to think hard about how to get around.

Apart from buying SMS tickets for Prague Integrated Transportation, Citymove can also mediate the payment for parking in all types of parking zones in Prague. At the time it was the first way for drivers to pay natively for parking directly in the app. 20 thousand users had the chance to try it out in February 2020.
